Meta's review: what the statuses mean, and what to do after a rejection

How long Meta takes, how to see its decision, and how to fix a rejected template.

Updated

After you send a template for review it shows In review at Meta. Meta usually decides within minutes, and always within 24 hours. You don't need to stay on the page: Syniria asks Meta for the result every time you open the Templates page, when you press Check Meta for updates, and about once an hour in the background.

StatusWhat it means
DraftNot sent to Meta yet
In review at MetaWaiting for Meta's decision
ApprovedReady to use in campaigns. The line under it shows Meta's quality rating, which starts as "not rated yet"
RejectedMeta's reason is shown when Meta gives one. Change the template and send it again
Paused by MetaPeople blocked or reported it, so it can't be sent for now
Disabled by MetaIt can't be sent

After a rejection, open the template, change it, and press Send to Meta for review again; its name and language stay. Common reasons are a blank at the start or end, blanks side by side, too many blanks for the length of the message, or promotional wording in a Utility template.

Paused or disabled by Meta means people blocked or reported it. A campaign sending it pauses by itself. Write a new template with clearer wording, and send only to people who expect your messages.

To change an approved template, open it and press Duplicate. A copy opens as a draft: change it and send the copy for review, while the original keeps working.
