Options and versions

Describe options like size and colour; every combination becomes a version with its own price and stock.

Updated

Options define the combinations, and versions are the combinations. You don't add versions one at a time: you describe the options, and every combination is created for you.

  1. Open the item and scroll to Options.
  2. Tick This product has options, like size or colour (worded for your item). Each combination becomes its own version, with its own price and stock.
  3. Type the option's name, such as Size, Colour or Material.
  4. Add its values: press Enter or type a comma after each, or paste a list such as "S, M, L". Duplicates are ignored.
  5. Add a second or third option if you need one. Three is the most.
  6. A preview shows how many versions will be created, with examples such as "Red / S".
  7. Save.

Editing versions: an item with several versions shows one line per version, with its SKU, price, was-price and stock. Type into them and save. The small arrow at the end of a row holds that version's barcode and Keep selling at zero stock.

A version's name, such as "Red / M", can't be edited: change the option values instead.

Changing options later:

  • Adding a value keeps every combination you already had, with its prices and stock. Only new combinations start empty; they take the item's price, was-price and back-order setting, but never a SKU, barcode or stock count.
  • Removing a value removes its combinations, with their prices and stock.
  • Unticking the options box returns the item to a single version, and per-version prices and stock are lost. Syniria asks first.

Limits: 3 options, 100 values per option, and 100 versions per item.
