Importing a spreadsheet

Bring in your catalog from a CSV or Excel file, including Shopify, Salla and Zid exports.

Updated

Spreadsheet import is offered for online stores and Other business types. For the other ten types the button isn't shown.

Click Import spreadsheet at the top of your catalog. You map your file's columns to Syniria's fields, then review everything before it's saved.

Files: CSV, XLS or XLSX, up to 10 MB. Only the first sheet is read, and its first row must be the column headers. Arabic headers and content work, including files exported from Salla and Zid.

  1. Upload the file. Nothing is saved yet, and the file itself is never stored.
  2. Map your columns. Each column gets a dropdown; common English and Arabic headers are matched for you, and anything unrecognised starts on Ignore this column. Map at least a name column. You can also map description, price, was-price, image links, up to three options, brand, tags, barcode and your business type's own fields. Map description and category if you have them: your agent matches customers' wording against them.
  3. Review each product as an editable card, with its images and versions. Fix anything, or remove a card.
  4. Save, with Add … products to catalog, which adds them beside what you have, or Replace catalog with these …, which deletes your whole existing catalog, photos included, first. Syniria asks before replacing, and it can't be undone.

Shopify-style exports put a product's extra photos and sizes on their own rows, with the same handle and no title. Map the Handle / product ID column, and those rows are merged into one product with all their images. The mapping step warns you when many rows have no name.

Photos come afterwards: products are saved at once, and their images download in your browser (see Importing photos by link).

Importing the same file twice with Add gives you two of everything: imports don't look for duplicates.

Limits: 10 MB per file, 5,000 products per import, 100 versions and 8 images per product.
