Every field on an item
Status, details, pricing, stock, options and the fields your business type adds.
Updated
The panel has these sections, top to bottom.
Status, under the item's name: always set. This is how you take something down without deleting it (see Taking items down, or removing them).
Details
- Name (required), labelled for your business, such as "Product name" or "Listing title". Your agent matches customers' wording against it.
- Description (optional): your agent searches it to match customers to the right item when they describe what they want in their own words. A good description makes an item far easier to find.
Media: photos (see Adding photos to an item).
Pricing
- Price: what the customer pays, and the number your agent quotes.
- Price unit, for business types that price per night, per hour, per session and so on. Without a unit, your agent reads the price as the total.
- Compare-at price (was): the struck-through original price. Leave it empty when nothing is on sale.
Inventory, for business types that use codes or count stock:
- SKU / code: your own code. Customers and your agent can search by it.
- Barcode (ISBN, UPC, GTIN): the manufacturer's code. Keep it out of the SKU box: they're different codes, and your agent matches both.
- Stock, labelled for your business ("In stock", "Seats left", "Rooms available"). An empty box means you don't track stock, which isn't the same as zero. Empty is offered as available; 0 as out of stock.
- Continue selling when out of stock: your agent still takes the order instead of saying it's unavailable. The list shows Back-order instead of Out of stock.
When an item has several versions, prices and stock are set per version instead.
Options: see Options and versions.
Organization
- Brand / vendor (optional), up to 200 characters. Your agent searches it.
- Tags: extra words a customer might use, such as "gift", "summer" or "waterproof". Press Enter after each. Up to 100 tags of 60 characters. Your agent matches against them, and a customer's own wording matches a tag more often than a name.
- Your business type's own fields, such as Category, Duration, Stylist, Capacity, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Area or Location.
Category matters more than it looks: your agent matches against it, it groups your list, and an item with neither a description nor a category counts toward the "need detail" reminder at the top of the page.
