Product lists belong in your catalog

Why prices, stock and menus go in your catalog, not in Agent settings.

Knowledge sources and your business description are for things that are true about your business: who you are, your policies, delivery and service details, your terms.

They're not for product data such as prices, stock, sizes or item names. What you add in Agent settings is condensed into your agent's background knowledge: a summary, not an exact copy, frozen when you saved. Condense a price list and individual prices blur or disappear, and everything goes stale the moment a price changes.

Your catalog works differently: your agent looks items up live, when a customer asks, so prices and availability are always current. Your agent is also told never to quote a price, stock level or product detail from its background knowledge, only from the catalog. The catalog comes with every plan, and with the free trial.

Rule of thumb: if it has a price or a quantity next to it, it goes in your catalog. Everything else can be a knowledge source.
