Image understanding: photos customers send
Your agent looks at the photos customers send on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, and answers in text.
Updated
Your agent can look at photos your customers send on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. There's nothing to switch on.
When a customer sends a photo:
- It's saved to the conversation and appears in your Inbox.
- Your agent notes what it can see: the kind of item, its colours, any brand name actually printed on it, and every piece of text it can read.
- It uses that in its reply, in the customer's language.
- Your agent looks at photos only in chats it's answering. When your team has a chat, or the AI is off, photos are saved but not looked at.
- Up to three photos per message are looked at. All of them are saved and shown in your Inbox; ask for the important one on its own if it matters.
- Text in the picture helps most. A size tag, a price label, a product code or a screenshot's caption is copied out exactly, in its own language.
- It doesn't guess. No visible logo means no brand; an unclear colour is left out. It doesn't guess prices from a photo, and it doesn't identify people.
What it can't do yet: find the matching item in your catalog from a picture alone. A product name or code it reads from the photo helps your agent search, but there's no visual product search.
It works less well with blurry, dark or heavily cropped photos, and with handwriting. A screenshot showing several products doesn't say which one the customer means, so your agent may need to ask.
A photo costs nothing extra: answering a message with photos uses one credit, like any reply.
What happens to the photo: it's kept privately with the conversation for 90 days, then deleted. To look at it, the AI provider gets a temporary link that stops working after five minutes, as Syniria's Privacy Policy describes. Tell customers not to send identity or payment documents.
