Business hours, and what your agent says when you're closed
Set your weekly hours; your agent knows at every message whether you're open right now.
Updated
Business hours on the Agent tab has one row per day, Sunday to Saturday. Tick a day to open it: two time boxes appear, starting at 09:00 to 18:00. Leave a day unticked and it shows Closed.
Under the rows, a preview line shows what your agent will tell customers, for example: Your AI agent will say: "Open Sun-Thu 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, closed Fri-Sat". Days with the same hours are grouped together.
| What you want | How to enter it | The preview shows |
|---|---|---|
| Closed all day | Leave the day unticked | closed Fri |
| Normal hours | For example 09:00 to 18:00 | Open Mon 9:00 AM-6:00 PM |
| Past midnight | A closing time earlier than the opening time, for example 18:00 to 02:00 | Open Sat 6:00 PM-2:00 AM (next day) |
| Open 24 hours | The same opening and closing time | Open Sat 24 hours |
Check the preview matches what you meant: it's exactly what customers are told.
Your agent has a live clock. When a customer asks whether you're open, your agent is told, at that moment, your local day and time in your workspace timezone (Settings → Profile), whether you're open, and when you close or next open. So it can answer "Yes, we're open until 6:00 PM" or "We're closed right now; we open on Sunday at 9:00". At the exact closing time you count as closed.
Your hours are never converted: your agent quotes them exactly as you typed them, wherever the customer is.
Leaving every day empty isn't the same as "closed". It means your hours aren't set: your agent is told it doesn't know whether you're open, and won't guess. No preview line appears when your hours are empty, so if you see none, fill them in.
Worth knowing: each day has one opening window, so a mid-day break can't be entered, and there's no holiday calendar: on a public holiday your agent still gives your usual hours. Untick the day beforehand, or take those chats over from the Inbox.
