Testing your agent and going live

Every new workspace starts in test mode: try your agent in one chat, then switch it on for everyone.

Updated

Every new workspace starts in test mode: your AI agent answers only the chats you choose. You go live from the Inbox when you're ready, which is step 5 of the checklist.

The switch is at the top of the Inbox list:

  • Before your agent is set up, it reads AI is off, and the owner sees Set up your AI agent beside it.
  • Once your agent is saved, it reads AI limited to selected chats. To test, message your business from your own phone or account, open that chat in the Inbox and press Return to AI, then send another message: the AI answers new messages in that chat only. It doesn't go back and answer a message that was already waiting when you pressed the button.
  • To go live, press the switch. It asks "Let the AI reply to all chats?": the AI starts replying in every chat, including the ones it's off in now, while chats a teammate has taken over stay with them. Click Turn on for all chats. The switch now reads AI replies to all chats.
  • To go back to testing, press the switch again and click Limit AI replies. The AI stops replying in every chat; to let it answer one chat, open it and press Return to AI.

Only the owner can change the switch; teammates see which way it's set.

If your workspace has no message credits the AI can use, the switch reads AI is off, with Go to Billing for the owner, and Return to AI explains that the AI needs credits.
