The WhatsApp PIN Meta asks for

The six-digit two-step verification PIN that activates a number, and what to do if you don't know it.

Updated

Meta activates a number with its six-digit two-step verification PIN. It isn't the temporary code you get by SMS or call.

  • For a new number, you choose the PIN before setup. Save it somewhere safe: it protects your number and may be needed to reconnect later.
  • For a number that already has a PIN, enter that one, leading zeros included. Reconnecting an already registered number normally leaves its PIN unchanged.
  • If you don't know the PIN, open the number in Meta's WhatsApp Manager, go to its settings and Two-step verification, and change it there (Manager may ask for the old one first). Then enter the new PIN in Syniria. When Syniria asks for the PIN after Meta's setup, it keeps that setup ready for up to 30 minutes, so you don't go through Meta's window again.
  • Too many wrong PINs make Meta limit attempts on the number for a while; more attempts make the wait longer.

Never send your PIN in a support message.
