Installing the chat on your website

Paste one line of code on every page, with steps for WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and Google Tag Manager.

Under Install, the settings page shows one line of code that starts with <script src="https://chat.syniria.com/widget.js". Press Copy code and paste it once on every page of your website, just before the closing </body> tag. If your browser won't copy it, the page selects the code and asks you to copy it by hand.

Most website builders have a place for code that goes on every page. The page has short steps for each of these:

  • WordPress: install a header and footer plugin such as WPCode, add a new snippet in the site footer, paste the code, then save and activate it.
  • Shopify: Online Store → Themes → … → Edit code → layout/theme.liquid. Paste the code just before </body>, then save.
  • Wix: Settings → Custom code (under Advanced) → Add custom code. Paste the code, choose All pages and Body - end, then apply.
  • Squarespace: Settings → Developer tools (Advanced on older sites) → Code injection → Footer. Paste the code, then save. Code injection needs a Squarespace plan that includes it.
  • Webflow: Site settings → Custom code → Footer code. Paste the code, save, then publish the site.
  • Google Tag Manager: Tags → New → Custom HTML. Paste the code, set the trigger to All Pages, save, then submit.

Then add your website under Websites and press Save (see Choosing the websites the chat appears on). The chat appears only on the websites in that list.

The top of the settings page tells you when the chat was last loaded on a website, for example "Seen on example.com" and the time. Until then it says "Not seen on a website yet. Add your website below, then paste the code."
